What will I do as a Resident Transportation Driver?
- Transport residents to medical appointments and/or any transportation needs that they may have.
- Assist residents into and out of buildings and doctor's offices.
- Ensure residents in wheelchairs are properly and safely secured inside the vehicle during transport.
- Secure resident belongings, i.e. walkers, wheelchairs, bags, purchases etc. during transport.
- Perform pre-trip inspection of company vehicles before each outing to ensure vehicles are in good working order.
- Complete needed documentation and logging on each trip.
- Ensure at end of trip vehicles are clean, i.e. no trash, windows wiped down, interior seating wiped down if needed, floors swept and mopped as needed and vehicle documents are organized.
- Notify Maintenance immediately if any warning lights come on in the vehicles and/or safety issues the driver may experience during their shift.
- Maintain sufficient fuel levels i.e. never going below ? tank
What is required in this position?
- Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
- Must have a valid PA driver's license
- Must complete the DHS RA certification
- Must maintain First Aid and CPR certification
- Must complete annual training as required by current regulations
- Must be 21 years of age or older
