Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals as well as other medications to patients and performs the diagnostic study per physician orders. Serves in the capacity of Radiation Safety Officer (RSO). Reports to: Director of Imaging Services and Imaging Services Clinical Manager FLSA: Non-exempt Education: Graduate of an AMA approved Nuclear Medicine technology program required. Licenses: Current certificated by ARRT (NM) or NMTCB. Current certification by the State in Nuclear Medicine. If registry eligible must complete and pass within one year of hired date. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Minimum Work Experience Minimum of one year preferred. Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Essential Functions Administers radiopharmaceuticals and medications for patient imaging and therapeutic procedures. Processes data and enhances digital images using advanced computer technology. Provides images, data analysis and patient information for diagnostic interpretation or therapeutic procedures. Evaluates images to determine the technical quality and calibration of instrumentation. Processes the images for radiologist review. Ensures that all physics testing is accomplished as required. Maintains all state licenses for the Imaging Department and assures compliance. Chairs the Radiation Safety Committee and maintains the minutes of each meeting. Non-Essential Functions Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
