What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant IV position at LifePath Systems?
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or Accounting is required.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial statements prepared according to GAAP, business journals, technical procedures, governmental and grant regulations.
- Record Revenue and expense accruals, including payroll.
- Record and maintain Fixed Assets tracking.
- Responsible for the preparation of month-end journal entries (J/E’s). Ensure that debt payments are made on a timely basis.
- Ensure monthly entries and closing are accurately performed and maintained.
- Work with Compliance to ensure required audits of contractors and financial documents are completed and updated.
- Coordinate with division contract managers and communicate with contractors, subcontractors, and various levels of the LPS workforce.
- Prepare complex financial statements and provide financial analysis as needed.
- Serve as subject matter expert with accounting systems software and training to Fiscal and other LPS staff.
- Works with Accounting team to ensure that Accounts Payable are paid in a timely manner, Accounts Receivable are collected and properly applied, and payroll is processed in timely manner.
- Position serves as a backup for all monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or Accounting is required.
- Five years progressive accounting experience.
- Preferences: Experience with a community MHMR, non-profit, or governmental accounting environment. Also, fixed assets and strong cost accounting skills.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

- Employee must have knowledge of general accounting, payroll, and computer skills including highly skilled working with MS Excel and Blackbaud.
- Employee must be well organized and detail oriented.
