Position Summary:
Lifeline Inflatable Services is seeking an experienced Marine Service Manager to oversee service operations focused on outboard engines, boat rigging, and marine electronics. This role will manage daily shop workflow, supervise technicians, and ensure high-quality service for customers. The ideal candidate is highly experienced with outboard engines—particularly Yamaha—along with modern boat rigging and marine electronics installation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the marine service department
- Schedule and oversee service, diagnostics, and repairs on outboard engines
- Coordinate and oversee engine service, boat rigging including controls, steering systems, fuel systems, and wiring
- Manage installation and setup of marine electronics such as GPS/chartplotters, sonar, VHF radios, and battery systems
- Communicate with customers regarding service needs, estimates, and timelines
- Order parts, maintain inventory, and coordinate with suppliers
· Maintain service records, documentation, and warranty submissions.
- Ensure all work meets manufacturer standards and marine safety best practices
- Support training, mentorship, and development of technicians.
- Maintain detailed service documentation and job tracking
- Help improve shop workflow and service efficiency, enforce shop safety and cleanliness
Qualifications:
- Yamaha Outboard Certification
- Strong experience servicing and diagnosing modern outboard engines
- Experience with boat rigging, controls, steering systems, and electrical systems
- Experience installing and troubleshooting marine electronics
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent organizational and customer service skills
- Ability to work hands-on when needed and assist technicians with complex jobs
Preferred Experience:
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Experience with RHIBs and inflatable boats
- Familiarity with hydraulic steering systems and digital controls
- Experience with NMEA networks and marine electronics integration
- Marine industry service management experience
