Position Status: Full Time

Position Summary: Provides detailed relational host family support from the time of inquiry through travel preparation. Partners with regional team in assessing families for international adoption.

This position is designed to function as a flexible, team‑based role in support of Lifeline’s mission and operational needs. While this job description outlines the primary responsibilities associated with the role, employees may be asked to assist with responsibilities across programs, service areas, or state initiatives based on organizational priorities, caseload demands, licensure qualifications, and supervisor direction.

Any additional responsibilities assigned will be consistent with the employee’s role classification, training, licensure, and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) status and will not fundamentally change the nature of the position.

Primary Duties:

  • To be a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ to co-workers, clients and ministry partners
  • Actively participates on the team in a manner aligned with scripture including, but not limited to, praying for and with other team members, sharing scripture in daily activities and leadership, modeling the character of Jesus Christ in interactions with team and any external clients, partners, vendors, etc.
  • Disciples’ ministry partners and clients.
  • Aligns team dynamics, internal & external processes, and final product of team’s work with Biblical principles and with Lifeline’s Core Values
  • Aligns with international strategic objectives
  • Provides inquiry services via TEAMS as needed.
  • Schedules and completes Welcome Call after application acceptance
  • Between Welcome Call and Starter Kit completion answers and assists family with any questions or concerns they may have
  • Confirms that all starter kit documents have been signed and uploaded to SAM database in a timely manner. Will assist family when there is difficulty with this.
  • Confirms that Agency Fee A has been paid.
  • Introduces family to International Social Services Coordinator and local caseworker for Orientation Interview and home study services (IN)
  • Collaborates with International Social Service Coordinator throughout the process and as family nears the completion of the home study, reminds the family of their role at this point in the process.
  • Once the home study is finalized, assists the family as needed in completion of the 800 A/600 A. Reviews completed 800A/600A and supporting documents for International Administrative Assistant to mail to the appropriate USCIS address.
  • Will seek supervision when an RFE is received and will immediately review with RPM. A determination will be made on who will communicate with the family. If the RFE is related to the Home Study, this will be the responsibility of the International Social Service Coordinator. If the RFE is process in nature it will be the responsibility of the International Process Coordinator.
  • When needed, will communicate with the International Social Service Coordinator to keep the RFE response process moving forward. Will confirm that the RFE is being responded to in a timely manner. Will confirm a scan of the RFE response has been uploaded to SAM along with FED EX tracking.
  • Collaborates with RPM during supervision and evaluates throughout a family’s process if a Home Study update is needed for noted changes relevant to USCIS. Work with the International Social Service Coordinator when a Home Study update is needed.
  • Collaborates with RPM during supervision and evaluates the family throughout the process for any potential concerns. Seeks guidance from RPM for further evaluation and assessment.
  • Assists family in completing Supplement 3 documentation for an immigration extension or reporting a change. Collaborate with International Social Services Coordinator to ensure the country has the most up to date information.
  • Depending on the country (in regards to timing), guides the family through compilation and explanation of dossier documents, collects dossier documents, reviews thoroughly all dossier documents. Will instruct international administrative assistant in notarization and apostille steps per country requirements. Dossier will be completed when 800 A/600 A approval is received.
  • Requests and confirms all agency fees and Foreign Program Fees are collected at the appropriate interval.
  • Upon dossier completion, collaborates with the International Administrative Assistant, on uploading completed dossier to SAM and mailing to international country.
  • Upon receipt of official referral, will guide family in completing 800/600 USCIS document.
  • While waiting for 800/600 provisional approval, travel preparation for family begins. This will include but is not limited to: detailed itinerary preparation, collaboration with International Admin assistant regarding wires needed, and other needs as the country requires.
  • Guides family through travel preparation. Will complete travel calls and upload documentation to SAM.
  • Work with International Leadership on improvements to process steps and documents including creating LEP courses for specific needs.
  • Assists the RPM with various tasks as assigned
  • Support for general International Adoption projects; including but not limited to recruiting opportunities
  • Special projects as needed by the team or agency
  • Encourages and supports church engagement efforts, including live presence opportunities, adoption information meetings, and biblical teaching on caring for vulnerable children.
  • If qualified by the state, conduct home studies, post placement/adoption reports or other related adoption services for families in your geographical area when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
