Because this is a new role, there is significant opportunity to help shape and grow the position over time. We are looking for someone entrepreneurial, organized, and proactive โ€” someone excited to build partnerships from the ground up, identify new referral sources, and create systems and strategies that help our programs grow.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on networking, community engagement, follow-through, and developing meaningful professional relationships.

About the Role

The Business Development & Community Partnerships Coordinator will focus on growing referrals and community awareness for:

This includes building and developing relationships with:

  • Hospitals and pediatricians
  • Foster care and preventive agencies
  • Community organizations
  • Mental health providers and referral sources

This person will be expected not only to maintain partnerships, but to actively identify, develop, and cultivate new referral relationships across NYC and surrounding communities.

The role may also include helping create brochures, presentations, and marketing materials, but the primary focus is outreach, relationship-building, organization, and consistent follow-up.

Responsibilities
  • Develop new referral partnerships and community relationships from the ground up
  • Conduct outreach to schools, hospitals, pediatricians, foster care agencies, and community providers
  • Identify new opportunities for collaboration and referral development
  • Represent Lifeline at meetings, networking events, and community presentations
  • Track outreach efforts, referrals, and ongoing communication
  • Collaborate with multiple department managers and leadership team members
  • Assist with marketing and promotional materials as needed
  • Support organizational needs and pitch in across departments when necessary
  • Help shape and grow this evolving role over time

Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organization and follow-up abilities
  • Self-starter who is comfortable building systems and relationships independently
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with multiple teams and supervisors
  • Experience in mental health, social services, healthcare, education, or related fields strongly preferred
  • Background in child/adolescent mental health is a plus
  • Experience with outreach, admissions, recruiting, partnership development, or community engagement preferred

  • Professional growth and advancement potential
  • Mission-driven, collaborative environment
  • Meaningful work serving children and families
  • Ability to make a direct impact on access to care in underserved communities
