This position requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results, which directly impact patient care decisions. The technician will operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment, adhering strictly to safety and quality control protocols. Collaboration with medical staff and adherence to regulatory standards are essential to maintain the integrity of laboratory operations. Ultimately, the Licensed Lab Technician contributes to the overall effectiveness of healthcare delivery by providing timely and accurate laboratory data.Minimum Qualifications:Valid licensure as a Laboratory Technician as required by state or national regulatory bodies.Completion of an accredited laboratory technician training program or equivalent education.Proven experience working in a clinical laboratory setting with familiarity in specimen collection and testing procedures.Strong understanding of laboratory safety standards and quality control measures.Basic computer skills for data entry and laboratory information system usage.Preferred Qualifications:Certification from a recognized professional organization such as the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).Experience with advanced laboratory instrumentation and molecular diagnostic techniques.Knowledge of laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and electronic health records (EHR).Additional training or coursework in microbiology, hematology, or clinical chemistry.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.Responsibilities:Collect, prepare, and analyze biological specimens such as blood, urine, and tissue samples following established protocols.Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests, documenting results accurately and promptly in patient records.Adhere to all safety, quality control, and regulatory guidelines to maintain a safe and compliant laboratory environment.Collaborate with healthcare professionals to communicate test results and assist in troubleshooting laboratory issues.Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and ensure proper storage and disposal of biohazardous materials.Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with advancements in laboratory technology and procedures.Skills:The Licensed Lab Technician utilizes technical skills daily to perform accurate specimen collection and laboratory testing, ensuring reliable results that inform patient care. Attention to detail and analytical skills are essential for interpreting test outcomes and maintaining quality control standards. Communication skills are employed to effectively collaborate with healthcare providers and document findings clearly. Proficiency with laboratory instruments and information systems supports efficient workflow and data management. Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
