LifeGift is currently looking for an Organ Utilization and Staff Development Trainer that will be responsible for coordinating the training of the Organ Placement Specialists.


Do you possess the attributes to be a successful Organ Utilization and Staff Development Trainer and perform the following essential functions?


  • Implementation, coordination, and presentation of training and development programs.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources, LifeGift Institute for the Future of Transplantation (LIFT) team members, Organ Operations and Surgical Recovery Leadership, and other departments.
  • The Trainer will develop, facilitate, and analyze the effectiveness of LifeGift’s departmental education and development, utilizing varying platforms to ensure best practices and adult learning principles, to deliver quality training programs
  • Coordinate orientation and cross-departmental learning opportunities to include training plans, by partnering with departmental preceptors and leadership.
  • Develop and implement curricula for the organization’s employee education programs
  • Facilitate ongoing competency evaluations, develop role-specific compliance programs, and maintain training documentation.
  • Provide feedback to department leaders on the plan and progress of new orientees.
  • Identify subject-matter-experts as needed to deliver role-specific educational programs.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Training Supervisors and Organ Operations and Surgical Recovery departmental leaders, to develop multi-media training opportunities using web-based technologies, in-class lectures, defined role-specific experiences, and labs.
  • Manages new employee training process for the Organ Operations Department to discuss progress updates, complete training file documentation, new employees, and staff checkoffs; or schedule further education in collaboration with supervisors, managers, and/or directors.
  • Partner with the LIFT staff for the maintenance of training files and documentation, in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on departmental training program effectiveness, training program content, and participant satisfaction.


Do you have the education and experience to be an Organ Utilization and Staff Development Trainer?


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
  • Two or more years of related experience in organ or tissue donation.
  • Successfully Complete the LIFT Educator Certification Program within six (6) months of hire date
  • Requires. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare system operations, as applicable to specific department.
  • Knowledge with Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) standards and Organ Procurement and Transplant Network (OPTN) policies


This is an onsite role.
