What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at Lifecore Health Group?
The nurse will ensure that nursing services are provided and coordination of medical care and patient interaction to provide the most supportive environment for optimum patient outcomes.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administers medication and medical treatments following standard nursing procedures.
- Assesses and monitors physical conditions of patients/clients.
- Maintains effective communication with patients, families, and members of the health care staff.
- Provides documentation, prepares reports, and maintains patient records.
- Participates in defining, interpreting, and implementing standards, policies, and procedures which affect the delivery of nursing care services.
- Adhere to all Department of Mental Health Standards, Division of Medicaid Standards, and maintain respect for all other LIFECORE’s policies, procedures, and management decisions.
- Respect and uphold the confidentiality of individuals receiving services, their family members, colleagues, and any sensitive situations arising within the agency.
- Participate in all training required for your specific position and by the agency at large.
- Must possess leadership ability, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Maintain clean and well stocked clinical areas and conduct monthly checks in all Outpatient Clinics.
- Perform other specific duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Practical Nurse
- A minimum of one year nursing experience (preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal skills that allow the incumbent to build strong relationships both within the agency and with vital outside interests.
- A valid Mississippi driver’s license
Working Conditions: All outpatient Clinics within the region.
Physical Requirements: Minimal to strenuous physical exertion with some bending, stooping, and lifting.
