Currently, FitLab is looking for a Director of Planning, Procurement & Production to join the team.
Position Summary: The Director of Planning, Procurement & Production is responsible for overseeing demand planning, inventory management, procurement, and production coordination to ensure seamless operations across all product sales channels: DTC, Wholesale, Retail Direct, and International Drop Ship. This role ensures accurate forecasting, optimal inventory levels, efficient procurement, and strong supplier relationships to support the company’s growth.
Additionally, this position leads the Procurement and Production team, ensuring that raw materials, parts and finished goods are sourced efficiently, manufacturing partners meet quality and production standards, and inventory flows are optimized to meet customer demand.
This leadership role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Finance, Logistics, Operations and Product Development to align supply chain operations with business objectives while driving cost efficiencies and service level improvements.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
- Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership - Develop and execute a comprehensive inventory strategy that aligns with business goals, performance metrics, and growth plans. Lead and mentor the Procurement & Production Specialist and Procurement & Production Manager roles, ensuring clear objectives and accountability. Implement best-in-class supply chain processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve fulfillment performance. Drive cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Operations, and Finance to improve supply chain visibility and alignment.
- Demand Planning & Forecasting - Own and manage the demand planning process, ensuring accurate forecasts based on historical data, sales trends, and market insights. Work closely with Product, Sales & Marketing to incorporate new product launches, promotions, and seasonal fluctuations into demand forecasts. Improve forecast accuracy by implementing data-driven models and continuous refinement techniques. Partner with Finance to align demand planning with budgeting and revenue projections.
- Inventory Planning, Management & Optimization - Own and manage the inventory planning process. Establish and maintain optimal inventory levels (Inventory Turnover & Days of Supply) to balance working capital, service levels, and stock availability. Implement strategies to reduce stockouts, excess inventory, and obsolescence risks. Develop and enforce inventory replenishment policies, including safety stock and reorder points. Responsible for strategy and management of VMI (vendor managed inventory) program
- Procurement & Supplier Management - Oversee supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management to ensure cost-effective and high-quality sourcing. Work with the Procurement & Production team members to maintain strong supplier relationships and improve lead times, cost efficiency, and reliability. Implement supplier performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and accountability. Align demand forecasts with production and procurement schedules to ensure supply availability.
- Production Oversight & Manufacturer Coordination - Oversee contract manufacturing operations, ensuring finished goods meet company-defined quality, cost, and lead-time expectations. Work with the Procurement & Production Managers to define and enforce SOPs, quality control measures, and process improvements for contract manufacturers. Ensure manufacturers adhere to product specifications, compliance standards, and production deadlines. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs.
- Process Improvement & Technology Integration - Implement technology solutions (ERP, forecasting tools, supply chain analytics) to improve visibility and decision-making. Develop KPI dashboards to track and report on forecast accuracy, inventory turns, supplier performance, and production efficiency. Identify and execute process improvements to streamline supply chain operations and reduce costs.

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 10 years of supply chain, demand planning, procurement, or production management experience in a CPG environment.
- Experience leading cross-functional supply chain teams with direct management of procurement and production functions.
- Strong excel proficiency and analytical skills with expertise in demand forecasting, inventory planning, and supplier management.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems such as Netsuite, demand planning tools, and supply chain analytics.
- Knowledge of contract manufacturing operations, supplier negotiations, and cost optimization strategies. Experience with contract manufacturing from China and Taiwan is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
