Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong computer and bookkeeping skills, excellent organizational abilities, and confidence working within Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and at least one bookkeeping software platform. The bookkeeping and human resources support specialist will work on-site in the business office up to 40 hours per week, and will assist in weekly tasks for data entry including but not limited to:
· Accounts Payable – entering invoices, cutting and mailing checks, processing online payments, preparing all credit cards for payment and work closely with credit card users to code transactions and reconcile accounts
· Accounts Receivable - processing billing for schools and weekly non-profit giving, making bank deposits
· Payroll - processing biweekly payrolls/time cards, holiday and PTO time entries, entering new employees, assisting with year-end reports
· Maintain filing system
· Maintain office supplies
· Work closely with direct report to assist with monthly reports and filings to maintain accuracy
· Reconcile bank and cash accounts
· Retrieve mail daily/weekly and occasionally run general errands
The bookkeeping and human resources support specialist will report directly to the Finance Manager.
Required Business Qualifications
· Minimum of 5 years of double-entry bookkeeping experience. (We operate multiple databases and software systems that can be trained onsite.)
- Moderate to strong proficiency in: Microsoft Office 365 – Excel and Word, Dropbox, Google Drive, Google Docs
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain confidentiality
- Highly organized
Preferred Business Qualifications
· Certified Bookkeeper OR Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
· Previous Human Resources (HR) experience including
- Processing payroll
- Maintaining employee records
- Basic understanding of Federal and State Labor Laws
- Benefits management
- Onboarding/Offboarding processes
