Description
LifeCenter Organ Donor Network is recruiting for a Full Time Donation Support Services Coordinator I in our Donation Support Services area (NIGHT SHIFT).
This position is one of a medical call center atmosphere. The candidate will take incoming calls from hospitals, funeral homes, coroners, tissue processors and recovery staff to facilitate and assess organ, eye and tissue donation. The candidate will also talk directly with donor families about the gift of donation.
This is a full-time position with the following hours:
- Night Shift = 7:00pm - 7:00am working three shifts per week (including holidays and weekends)
- This is a 36 hours per week position
Holiday pay is time and a half Holiday pay!
This position allows you to be off during the business week which is a nice perk!
Requirements
- Preferred certification in healthcare
- Two years experience in a call center setting
- Required medical terminology
- Great customer service speaking skills
- Take patient medical and social information over the phone and accurately and thoroughly enter this information in the system (UDRAI)
- Communicate referral/case information to the appropriate individuals, both internally and externally, to optimize the potential for donation
- Provide follow up whether the case will move forward for donation
- Assists organ recovery team with initial call in organ potential cases
- Knowledge of suitability criteria for tissue donors and stays abreast as guidelines change
- Works closely with tissue recovery staff and builds a positive, productive and professional rapport
- Talk with families and next of kin about the outcome of donation. Sometimes this can be an adverse outcome and a difficult conversation to have with a family
- Documentation meets standards set forth by regulatory affairs and our own Quality Services department. Minimize deviations
- Rotation of "Charge" Coordinator and will be responsible for day-to-day activities, case activity and follow ups are completed
- Able to manage emotions in a high stress environment
- Flexibility in an ever-changing environment
- Attention-to-detail and confidentiality for documentation purposes
