What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Care Assistant (Weekends) position at LIFECARE ALLIANCE?
Job Purpose:
- The Personal Care Assistant is responsible for performing personal care and homemaker services based on a nurse’s assessment of the client’s needs. This position is also responsible for providing respite and private duty care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting clients with personal hygiene according to the client care plan.
- Taking and recording vital signs with accuracy.
- Completing required documents.
- Providing social interaction and emotional support to clients and/or caregivers.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education:
- 60-hour training or state tested nursing license
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of in-home care experience, either private duty or in a facility
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to lift, transfer, and move clients
- Ability to lift 30 pounds using proper body mechanics
- Proficiency in taking and recording vital signs with accuracy
- Competency in completing required documentation
- Strong interpersonal skills for providing social interaction and emotional support to clients and caregivers
