Job Summary
We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Junior Biomedical Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with biomedical data analysis, machine learning, or scientific computing, and a strong interest in building scalable software solutions for both research and industrial applications in a fast-paced start-up environment. In this role, you will support the analysis of large-scale 3D fluorescence microscopy datasets generated by LifeCanvas technologies. You will work closely with our tissue processing, image acquisition, and Contract Research teams to run analyses, validate outputs, troubleshoot issues, and help generate high-quality quantitative results for internal teams and external scientific partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Run, validate, and troubleshoot analyses for Contract Research projects, ensuring accurate results and timely project completion.
- Perform quality control on analysis outputs to validate results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth data acquisition, integration, and downstream analysis.
- Communicate analytical findings clearly to internal teams and external scientific partners.
- Assist with maintaining and improving components of LifeCanvas image-analysis pipelines for large-scale 3D fluorescence microscopy datasets.
- Support the development of data engineering workflows, including database management, ETL processes, and handling of large imaging datasets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, bioengineering, computational biology, electrical engineering, or a relevant field.
- Experience with image processing for biological and/or biomedical applications
- Experience using Python for data science, scientific computing, automation, and image analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a self-motivated and detail-oriented mindset and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Adaptable and proactive in a fast-paced environment, comfortable working across multiple concurrent projects and evolving requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with light microscopy, neuroscience, and immunohistochemistry
- Familiarity with best practices for software engineering.
- Exposure to machine learning or deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience in working with data engineering/analysis pipelines.
