Summary
Is responsible for the production of optimal quality radiographs in an efficient manner while demonstrating concern for patients of all ages. Utilizes the knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate with the patient's age, to ensure that care provided meets the unique physical and psychosocial needs of the patient.
Responsibilities
Images correct patient by checking ID using AIDET. Reviews the patient’s information to make sure they are having the correct study completed. Calls the ER Doctor or Radiologist when needed for verification. Communicates any misadministration with the department Manager or Director. Reviews patient information on patients referral or in patients chart to confirm procedure requested. Reviews request for pertinent clinical information and correlates examination with previous examinations. Verifies diagnosis is medically necessary compared to exam ordered. Corrects inappropriate clinical information. Operates all Radiology equipment according to protocol or manufacturers recommendations to achieve the best possible images. Operates associated equipment such as but not limited to CR DR PACS printers and fax machines. Takes corrective measures to report and communicate equipment operating problems by following set processes.
Experience: Required: * 2-4 years Education: Preferred: * High School / GED Education Note: Graduate of a JRCERT accredited school of Radiologic Technology required.
Licenses And Certification: Required: * Basic Life Support * Registered Radiologic Technologist
