Nurse Technician – Brain Health Unit (BHU)
Full Time Night Shift - 3, 12 Hour Shifts (every other weekend required)

About the Role
Join the dedicated team at Levindale Hospital’s Brain Health Unit (BHU), where compassionate care meets clinical excellence. As a Nurse Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting patients with complex behavioral and medical needs while working alongside a collaborative interdisciplinary team.
This role is ideal for individuals who are hands-on, clinically skilled, and passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including total assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and accurate documentation
- Perform IV placement as directed by licensed nursing staff
- Perform Foley catheter insertion, maintenance, and care
- Conduct and monitor EKGs, reporting abnormal findings promptly
- Perform phlebotomy for lab specimen collection
- Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and patient status
- Observe and report changes in patient condition to the care team
- Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients
- Support admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
These responsibilities align with Levindale’s expectations for Nurse Technicians, including performing advanced clinical procedures such as IV starts, phlebotomy, EKG monitoring, and catheter care under RN guidance .

- Strong clinical skills in:
- IV placement

- EKG performance and interpretation support
- Phlebotomy
- Total ADL care with thorough documentation
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a high-acuity behavioral health setting
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail and patient safety
Qualifications Required
- Current Maryland CNAII license required
- BLS certification (AHA required)
- 1–3 years of patient care experience
- Basic computer and documentation skills
