Position Summary
The Medical Practice Representative is often the first point of contact for our patients and plays a key role in delivering an exceptional patient experience. This position is responsible for patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, collection of patient payments, and medical records support while ensuring accurate and efficient front-office operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Register and schedule patients, verify insurance coverage, obtain required authorizations and referrals, and maintain accurate demographic and insurance information.
- Collect co-pays and other patient payments, reconcile daily payment batches and cash drawer, and prepare deposits in accordance with organizational policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating financial responsibilities, responding to medical records requests, and supporting efficient daily practice operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- One to three years of administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare or medical office setting.
- Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn electronic health record systems.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
