About the Role:
- Performs diagnostic echocardiographic ultrasound imaging procedures and sonographic images and measurements. Works independently and with other healthcare providers to perform ultrasonography procedures and present images and pertinent patient information for interpretation. Position requires call coverage.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES;
- Works independently and with other healthcare providers to perform ultrasonography procedures and present images and pertinent patient information for interpretation.
- Supports adult, pediatric and neonatal patient populations.
- Performs echocardiographic procedures, which include transthoracic, transesophageal, exercise stress echo and Dobutamine stress echo.
- Verifies patient identification and examination order prior to performance of the procedure.
- Prepares the patient for the echocardiographic procedure.
- Assists during TAVR and LAAO structural heart procedures
- Assists with interpretation of diagnostic test results and advises physicians and professional staff regarding the technical aspects of the test performed as appropriate.
- Maintains adequate supplies in assigned areas, keeps all patient areas and exam rooms clean.
- Assists with clerical responsibilities, e. g. scheduling, charging/billing for echo tests performed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: HS Diploma/GED required, Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited school of Sonography required
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience
- Licensure/Certification: American Heart Assocation Basic Life Support CPR required, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer required within 6 months of hire
REQUIREMENTS: Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field. 1-3 years of experience. Registered Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer.
