POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing skilled childcare to children who enroll at Kids Care Plus. The Teacher will implement daily activities that promote learning, independence, and social interactions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide skilled childcare to toddlers and children aged two through twelve years.
- Reinforce lessons presented by the Lead Teacher by reviewing material with students one-on-one or in small groups.
- Teach simple drawing, painting, craft, and language skills (e.g., songs)
- Actively participate in recreational play and teaching activities.
- Engage with children by applying knowledge of childhood development, including learning behavior and physical, mental, and emotional development.
- Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers.
- Observe and monitor children’s play and interactive activities.
- Instruct children in health and personal habits, such as eating, resting, and toilet habits
- Assisting in preparing and serving children’s meals, snacks, or beverages
- Attending to the hygienic needs of the children (including changing diapers)
- Maintain MSDE yearly COK clock hours.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be at least 19 years of age
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent education
- 90 clock hours or equivalent of approved early childhood coursework
EXPERIENCE:
- Have at least one (1) year of experience working with preschoolers in an approved setting
- Three (3) hours in ADA Compliance
- Nine (9) clock hours of approved training in communicating with staff, parents, and the public
- Have dependable transportation
