INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT
SUMMARY
Serve as a positive role model for students in grades 6 - 12 through words, behaviors, attitudes, and all social interactions. Provide support and assistance to students under the direction of the teachers and the Head of School. Provide instructional, behavioral, and administrative assistance with the goal of supporting LifeBridge students on their path to success. Must have patience, tact, and truly enjoy working with adolescents.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school degree with two or more years’ experience working with middle and/or high school students, preferably in a classroom setting. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH STUDENTS AGED 11 - 18.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current certification in CPR and First Aid (LifeBridge Academy can assist in obtaining these certifications if necessary)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Serve as a positive role model for LifeBridge Academy students; demonstrate appropriate social interactions and model positive coping strategies.
Focus on making connections and building relationships with each student every day.
Contribute to a positive, mutually respectful school culture.
Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with parents, school personnel, and all community stakeholders.
Consistently enforce LifeBridge Academy’s Student Code of Conduct, Dress Code, and all other administrative polices governing students.
Exercise fair, firm, and consistent use of the school’s behavioral management program.
Consistently monitor and collect data for students’ daily point sheet, contributing to accurate record keeping on students’ progress towards goals.
Be a proactive force in preventing student behavior problems in the classroom.
Respond to and assist with student behavior issues and crisis situations, as needed.
Assist teachers with instruction, organization, grading, and behavior management.
Tutor and assist students individually, in small or in large groups, as needed.
Provide supervision and academic assistance to students taking online courses.
Follow and provide individual student accommodations as mandated by IEPs.
Prepare lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, and other classroom material as instructed by the teachers or Head of School.
Assist with student file maintenance; record accurate and complete information in student files.
Administer first aid to students in response to minor medical problems.
Serve as a 1:1 aide, as needed.
Follow assigned schedule to ensure adequate student supervision.
Meet regularly with the school team to coordinate efforts and ensure effective collaboration.
Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
Take initiative and contribute to the team effort in an equitable manner.
Demonstrate a strong work ethic that is centered on student needs.
Other duties may be assigned to assist with the smooth operation of the school.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
