Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities (ADLs) such as grooming, hygiene, meal preparation, and transportation
• Implement behavior management strategies to support positive social interactions and emotional well-being
• Support participants during community outings, recreational activities, and vocational tasks to promote independence and social skills
• Collect data on participant progress and behavior to inform care plans and report to team members
• Administer medication following prescribed protocols and document all medication-related activities accurately
• Use effective communication skills, including American Sign Language if applicable, to facilitate understanding and engagement
• Maintain a safe environment by following health and safety guidelines, conducting regular safety checks, and responding promptly to emergencies

Skills

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism in home, community care, or educational settings
• Strong understanding of special education principles and behavioral health practices
• Ability to utilize behavioral management techniques to support positive outcomes
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to assist with communication challenges using sign language or other methods
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for driving participants to appointments or community activities
• Compassionate caregiving skills with a focus on person-centered support and advocacy
• Ability to collect accurate data, maintain detailed documentation, and follow protocols for medication administration

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
