We are looking for a full time, day shift Housekeeper/Environmental Services Associate to join our team! The Environmental Services Associate is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day cleaning of Life’s Journey Hospice House in regards to patient rooms, direct patient area, bathroom, shower, common area and administrative offices in accordance with the company standards and current policies and procedures.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Portray a positive company image and engage in professional and friendly communications with all patients, families
- Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, and other work areas in accordance with Company specifications
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or window blinds, using vacuum cleaners and/or other related appliances
- Empty wastebaskets and dispose of trash and waste in designated areas
- Promotes safety of self and others with appropriate use of personal protective equipment
- Maintains janitor closet, cart, and supply area in a clean, neat condition
- Cleans all equipment used daily and stores in designated area
- Supports patient care and customer service by responding to requests for unscheduled housekeeping needs which are essential for reasons of health, safety, or comfort
- Must follow Universal Protection Precautions and Blood borne Pathogens Guidelines
- Keep outside grounds tidy and free from trash
- Performs other duties, as assigned by Administrator/Executive Director
Qualified applicants will possess the following:
- High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
- Complete Hospice Orientation and Hospice 101.
- Ability to work independently, be organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of hospice policies and procedures.
- Acceptance of and adaptability to different social, racial, cultural and religious modes.
- One or more years professional housekeeping experience or related experience preferred.
- One or more years general customer service experience required
