School Maintenance Staff

Maintenance / Handyman Position
Life International Academy – Tampa, FL

Part Time Position: 2-3 Days Per Week (Flexible Schedule Possible)

Pay: $1500-$2,500/month depending on experience & commitment

Life International Academy is small micro-school in Tampa-Florida nested on a 5-acre property. looking for a reliable and proactive maintenance team member to help maintain our beautiful school campus and growing property. In this role, you will help create a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, families, and visitors. This is a hands on position involving maintenance, repairs, cleaning, organization, landscaping, and campus improvement projects.

Requirements:

• Legal work permit.
• Basic English communication skills.
• Reliable transportation.
• Punctual, dependable, and professional.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Experience with handyman, maintenance, landscaping preferred.
• Comfortable working outdoors in Florida weather.
• Ability to safely lift and move heavy items when needed.
• Comfortable using basic tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
• Comfortable working around children, animals and an active school environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast paced environment.
• Preferred: Located within 30 minutes of the school for occasional emergency & maintenance needs.

Responsibilities Include:

• Daily school campus cleaning and upkeep (indoor, outdoor)
• Property and grounds maintenance
• Landscaping and outdoor cleanup
• Pressure washing, painting, and general property upkeep
• Small handyman repairs around the school
• Building and assembling furniture, cabinets, shelves, and equipment
• Basic woodwork and campus improvement projects when needed
• Moving furniture, organizing storage areas, and preparing spaces
• Monitoring campus condition and reporting larger maintenance concerns
• Assisting with garden and farm chores when needed
• Supporting the upkeep of outdoor learning spaces and animal areas.

We are a growing nature based school with gardens, outdoor classrooms, animals, and hands on projects. This position has the potential to grow into a full time role as the school continues expanding.
