Job Responsibilities: To develop and provide appropriate treatment strategies within a therapeutic milieu.
Job Duties
Obtain Therapist certification of License as required by Department of Mental Health and maintain Certification/License in good standing.
Provide therapy in school and home settings (individual, group, school based, family and day treatment if applicable).
Provide referral to services that may benefit the consumer, consumer's family and/or school personnel.
Establish weekly meetings with case manager(s).
Maintain current documentation as required by state and local standards.
Serve as liaison between student, home, school, and community resources such as family service agencies, child guidance clinics, courts, protective services, doctors, local MAP teams and clergy members.
Adhere to established policies and procedures as mandated by specific schools.
Display punctuality while performing all job duties.
Effectively manage time so that 85% of available time is spent in direct service.
Maintain an active case load of 40 students.
Available during school holidays and summer break in the event a child on caseload is in crisis.
Treat individuals receiving services, family members, staff, volunteers, visitors, government agencies, and the general public with respect, dignity, and courtesy at all times. Conduct yourself in a manner which leaves a favorable impression with the public.
Adhere to all Department of Mental Health Standards, Division of Medicaid Standards, and maintain respect for all other Life Help policies, procedures, and management decisions.
Respect and uphold the confidentiality of individuals receiving services, their family members, colleagues, and any sensitive situations arising within the agency. Refrain from malicious gossip at all times.
Participate in all training required for your specific position and by the agency at large.
Perform other specific duties as assigned by your supervisor/manager/coordinator.
Must possess leadership ability, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
The leave policy for School Based Therapist will consist of the following holidays, sick and personal days:
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Holidays (3 days)
Christmas Holidays (10 days)
Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday
Spring Break (5 days)
Easter Break (2 days)
Memorial Day
July 4
Summer Break ten (10) days at the conclusion of Summer Day Treatment, dates will be provided prior to the beginning of the School Year.
The above holidays are contingent upon the completion of all required paperwork and productivity expectations for the previous school year and summer day treatment. Additionally, receipt of holiday pay also is contingent up remaining employed and working after the holiday.
