Navy Engineering Technician - Navigation (Philadelphia, PA)
Position Summary:
As a Navy Engineering Navigation Technician with experience in LINUX, Windows and VME, support the U.S. Navy at the Philadelphia shipyard in the design, development, installation, testing and troubleshooting of Control, Navigation and Network systems on U.S. Navy ships. The selected candidate will be interfacing with U.S. Navy civilian engineers, program managers and logisticians as well as equipment manufacturers.

Position Summary:
As a Navy Engineering Navigation Technician with experience in LINUX, Windows and VME, support the U.S. Navy at the Philadelphia shipyard in the design, development, installation, testing and troubleshooting of Control, Navigation and Network systems on U.S. Navy ships. The selected candidate will be interfacing with U.S. Navy civilian engineers, program managers and logisticians as well as equipment manufacturers.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship required
- Active U.S. DoD security clearance required (Security clearance eligibility may be considered on a case-by-case basis.)
- Provide system installation, testing and troubleshooting support.
- Perform software and hardware integration testing.
- Develop and execute test procedures.
- Strong focus on remote support/troubleshooting as well as on-site support for Navy ships.
- Interface with U.S. Navy engineers, OEMs, and vendors to prepare equipment for installation, testing and troubleshooting.
- 3-5 years experience
- Solid electrical and computer engineering background and experience (LINUX, Windows and VME (VERSAmodule Eurocard))
- Experience with troubleshooting electrical circuits using appropriate tools
- Experience with comprehensive systems troubleshooting
- Ability to read schematics, wiring connection lists, etc.
- PLC experience (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon, etc.)
- Prior military service related to IBS/INBS preferred
- Knowledgeable of software development process
- QA type experience (identifying excessive cable bend radius, proper installation of equipment, etc.)
- Computer/Electronics experience with A or Security certification
- Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
- Ability to speak, read, hear, and write with or without assistance
- Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax, and other office equipment
