Objectives of the Position: The Staff Nurse assists with the provision of client care and medical services operations. This role performs clinical assessments and direct care under the supervision of the Clinic Manager, ensuring clients receive the best medical, nursing, psychosocial, and spiritual care possible.

  • Reports to: Executive Director (Administrative) and Medical Director (Clinical)
  • Status: Nonexempt, Part-time

I. Minimum Qualifications

  • Faith: A committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Exhibit strong commitment to the sanctity of all human life and sexual purity. Sincere desire to reach out with compassion and truth to women considering abortion.
  • Alignment: Expresses full agreement with and upholds the Statement of Faith, Statement of Principle, and Vision/Mission Statements of Life Choices Clinic. Maintains a consistent life-affirming philosophy.
  • Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the Idaho Board of Nursing; current BLS/CPR certification. Current Hepatitis B and TB results on file.
  • Experience: Preferred at least one year’s experience as a practicing nurse, ideally in a women’s health-related setting. Limited OB Ultrasound Didactic and Clinical training (within 3 months of hire).
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal skills; satisfactory knowledge of human reproduction and life-affirming health issues. Dependable, stable, and capable of following through on commitments.

II. Essential Functions

1. Clinical Support & Operations

  • Compliance: Implement Medical Director’s standing orders and comply with all clinic Policies & Procedures, including safety and infection control.
  • Facility Care: Maintain a regular cleaning schedule for the exam room; disinfect equipment according to protocol.
  • Inventory: Assist with medical supply inventory to ensure the clinic is properly stocked.
  • Equipment: Assess medical equipment for proper function; assist with cleaning and annual maintenance of the ultrasound machine.

2. Patient Care & Ministry

  • Clinical Care: Perform clinical assessments and services, including pregnancy tests and limited obstetrical ultrasounds, in accordance with expertise and Medical Director's standing orders. Thoroughly explain all medical consent forms to clients, and answer questions prior to providing medical services.
  • Holistic Support: Provide health education (pregnancy decision options, STIs, etc.) and spiritual care to inform and support clients and families. Share the Gospel and pray with patients with their permission.
  • Advocacy: Reinforce the humanity of the unborn child and reach out with compassion and Truth to women considering abortion. Maintain a life-affirming philosophy in all patient interactions. Provide referrals to like-minded organizations for continued care and support.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records; review charts for completeness and signatures.
  • Follow-up: Conduct phone follow-up with patients after ultrasounds, births, or as indicated by the individual care plan.

3. Professional Collaboration & Public Relations

  • Clinical Reporting: Advise the Nurse Manager, Medical Director, and Executive Director of patient progress or changes in condition.
  • Clinic Representation: Represent the clinic in the community as delegated by the Executive Director; assist with events, mailings, and fundraisers.
  • Teamwork: Has a team player’s spirit, willing to help with any/all clinic activities and assist other medical staff.

4. Continuing Education & Personal Growth

  • Professional Development: Maintain active nursing license and BLS certification; carry professional liability insurance. Fulfill all state/professional continuing education requirements. Be a life-long learner in women's health and management.
  • Spiritual Health: Nurture a growing relationship with Jesus Christ through personal and corporate worship.

III. Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Requires the ability to lift up to 20lbs and have the manual dexterity to operate medical equipment (e.g., ultrasound probes, trackball, keyboard/mouse, monitor).
  • Work Environment: Clinical office setting with potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases. Standard precautions and PPE must be utilized.

IV. Evaluation

The Staff Nurse receives an annual evaluation by the Clinic Manager regarding clinical performance and adherence to center policies.

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
