Human Resources Coordinator
Location: Overland Park, KS
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $24.00–$29.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Work Arrangement: On-site
Travel: Occasional local travel within Johnson County may be required.

Position Summary
The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. This position coordinates recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, employee records, HR systems, and training while serving as a trusted resource for employees and applicants.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, enjoys working with people, and is comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do
Recruiting and Hiring
- Coordinate recruiting efforts from job posting through onboarding
- Post positions on recruiting platforms
- Screen applicants and schedule interviews
- Coordinate background checks, MVRs, employment verification, and other pre-employment requirements
- Prepare offer letters and hiring documentation
- Maintain applicant tracking records
Onboarding
- Coordinate all new-hire onboarding activities
- Process employment paperwork, including I-9s, tax forms, direct deposit, and benefit enrollment
- Enter employee information into Paycor and HR systems
- Coordinate new-hire orientation
- Ensure all pre-employment requirements are completed before orientation
Human Resources Administration
- Maintain confidential employee personnel files
- Process promotions, wage changes, transfers, and employment changes
- Generate HR reports
- Maintain accurate employee records
- Monitor required licenses, certifications, and renewals
Benefits Administration
- Assist employees with benefit enrollment and questions
- Maintain Employee Navigator
- Process qualifying life-event changes
- Coordinate annual open enrollment
- Work with benefit vendors to resolve employee issues
Compliance and Training
- Maintain compliance with employment regulations and company policies
- Monitor background check and MVR renewal requirements
- Track annual mandatory training completion
- Coordinate employee training schedules
- Maintain accurate training records
Employee Support
- Serve as first point of contact for employee HR questions
- Assist with payroll and timekeeping questions
- Help employees understand company policies and procedures
- Escalate complex employee relations matters to leadership when appropriate
HR Systems
- Maintain employee information within Paycor and other HR systems
- Assist with HR technology improvements
- Support HR reporting and data accuracy
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of administrative, Human Resources, payroll, recruiting, or related office experience
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and employee-service skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
Preferred
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Two or more years of Human Resources experience
- Experience using Paycor or another Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
- Experience with Employee Navigator or benefits administration
- Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or human services
