Duties
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of nursing services across the facility, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations including long-term care standards and Medicare requirements.
- Supervise and manage nursing staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to promote a high-performing team.
- Develop, implement, and review care plans tailored to residents’ needs, ensuring alignment with best practices in memory care, hospice, home health, and acute care settings.
- Oversee documentation review processes to maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize resident outcomes and enhance quality of life through personalized care strategies.
- Monitor regulatory compliance related to long-term care facilities, Medicare billing practices, and state licensing requirements.
- Lead efforts in staff education on medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and documentation standards to uphold clinical excellence.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems effectively for patient documentation and reporting.
Requirements
- Valid RN license with current licensure in good standing; prior experience as a Nurse Manager or in nursing leadership preferred.
- Extensive background in long-term care facilities including assisted living, memory care, home health agencies, or hospice care.
- Proven management and supervising experience within nursing administration roles managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations, Medicare policies, HIPAA compliance, and documentation review procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used for medical records management; proficiency in medical terminology is essential.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff while fostering a positive work environment focused on resident safety and satisfaction.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with residents’ families, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies.
- Knowledge of nursing best practices related to patient care, physiology, anatomy, memory care strategies, and shift management.
