Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, LLP, a national leader in plaintiffs' litigation, has an immediate onsite opening for a highly motivated and proactiveAccounting Senior.
The Accounting Senior will be responsible for handling accounting tasks requiring the exercise of independent judgement. Position will work closely with the firm’s Controller on the day-to-day accounting for litigation cost funds and trust accounts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Work closely with the Controller to oversee and maintain cost fund accounts & the firm’s trust account.
- Work closely with the Mass Torts Practice Group senior paralegal to ensure the timely and accurate processing of settlement payments and other case disbursements that are directed by an LCHB partner.
- Prepare and process transactions, including checks, wire transfers, ACH payments, correspondence, etc., and document into accounting software.
- Reconcile bank accounts at month end.
- Prepare and post standard journal entries.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Work with external tax accountants on quarterly and annual requests.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external parties.
- Produce Accounting reports and assists with special projects, as needed.
- Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required, Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience with direct exposure to accounting operation duties like AP, AR, and cash reconciliations.
- Knowledge of Elite 3E and experience working in a professional services environment are highly desirable.
- Law firm experience desirable.
SHIFT/WEEKLY SCHEDULE
Shift hours are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (or 8:00am to 4:00pm, or 10:00 am to 6:00 pm), Monday through Friday. Must be willing to assume additional work hours during busy periods. Position is onsite full-time (five days per week). If after six months the candidate has demonstrated sufficient ability to work independently and it is possible logistically and securely to work a hybrid schedule, the position may include the option of working remotely two days per week

The pay range above represents LCHB’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting.
