Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and related systems. This role requires a hands-on approach to maintenance and repair, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The Diesel Mechanic will work on a variety of machinery, including farm equipment, trucks, and other heavy vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related components.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools.
- Repair or replace parts such as shocks, struts, and other suspension components.
- Fabricate parts as necessary to ensure optimal performance of machinery.
- Operate forklifts and cranes safely during repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Align wheels and perform necessary adjustments to ensure proper vehicle handling.
- Conduct inspections of farm machinery to identify potential issues before they become serious problems.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on each vehicle or piece of equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance service quality.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role in a dealership or repair shop setting.
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
- Experience with heavy lifting and handling large machinery safely.
- Familiarity with fabrication techniques for custom repairs is a plus.
- Knowledge of working with farm machinery is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
