We’re looking for a skilled Temporary Maintenance Technician with a versatile handyman background to join our team. If you’re reliable, detail-oriented, and take pride in your work, we’d love to hear from you!
PAY RANGE: Starting from $26.00 (based on experience, certifications, and skills)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform general maintenance, repairs, and preventive work across apartment units and common areas.
- Handle electrical repairs and installations (outlets, lighting fixtures, switches, and circuit troubleshooting).
- Diagnose, repair, and replace major residential appliances (refrigerators, dishwashers, washers/dryers, ovens, garbage disposals).
- Perform light plumbing repairs (faucets, toilets, drains, angle stops, minor pipe issues).
- Conduct routine, move-out, and vacancy inspections, prepare units for move-in, and verify vendor work.
- Complete work orders promptly, maintain accurate maintenance logs, and communicate progress with supervisors.
- Maintain tools, inventory, and supplies; ensure adherence to safety and OSHA standards.
- Assist with painting, drywall repair, and interior upgrades (e.g., replacing tubs and countertops).
- Respond to after-hours emergencies and participate in the rotating on-call schedule (including evenings, weekends, and holidays).
- Collaborate with Property Supervisors and vendors for specialized repairs and special projects.
- Perform other assigned duties to support daily property operations. Please note that this job description does not include all facets of the position.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in apartment or building maintenance required. (Minimum of Maintenance Tech II level).
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and appliance repair; trade school or technical certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting, time management, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and property management software (Yardi, RentCafe, etc.). Being tech-savvy is a plus.
- Friendly, professional demeanor with a focus on exceptional resident service.
- Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Must have reliable transportation, an active auto insurance policy, a clean driving record, and live within a reasonable commuting distance to the Beverly Hills and greater Los Angeles area.
EDUCATION & LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Trade or technical school training in electrical, HVAC, or building maintenance strongly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and any state/local certifications required for the role.
- EPA Section 608 Type I and Type II a plus.
- CAMT Certification is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively and to hear clearly.
- The role is physically active and involves frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the workday.
- The employee must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- The employee must be able to lift/move up to 25 lbs. independently (and up to 50 lbs. with assistance).
- Vision requirements for this position include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

- Reliable Transportation Required: While our main office is based in Beverly Hills and you’ll typically check in there once a day, this role involves regular travel throughout the Los Angeles area — including Westchester, West LA, and occasionally Glendale. Reliable personal transportation and flexibility to drive between sites daily are essential. Occasional or periodic travel may also be required to support other properties, attend training sessions, business meetings, or fulfill responsibilities related to this position.
