LICO is creating a sustainable circular economy solution in the lithium-ion battery supply chain for the recovery of critical materials. Lithium, cobalt, manganese, and nickel are to be given back to battery manufacturers to give the materials a second life.
What are we looking for? (Job Overview)
To lead international sourcing and import of lithium-ion battery scrap, e-waste, and black mass from the US market into India, ensuring cost efficiency, regulatory compliance (India US), and uninterrupted feedstock supply for recycling operations.
Key Responsibilities (Job Details)
Supplier Development & Sourcing
Identify and onboard suppliers of:
- Lithium-ion battery scrap (EV, consumer electronics)
- E-waste (laptops, mobiles, ESS systems)
- Black mass / intermediate recycling materials
Build long-term partnerships with:
OEMs, recyclers, aggregators, dismantlers, and waste management companies in the US
Develop sourcing strategies aligned with volume and cost targets
- Facilitate the integrity, confidentiality, and security of all financial records to safeguard from potential cyber security threats.
- Follow the uniform formats in which financial information and reports are created and stored.
- Report financial results to the Finance Controller.
Stakeholder Management
Internal production & operations teams for feedstock planning
Finance for cost control and payment cycles
EPR / Sales teams for alignment on sourcing vs obligation demand
Manage vendor performance and conduct periodic reviews
Volume & Cost Targets
Achieve monthly/quarterly sourcing targets (tonnage)
Drive cost optimization and margin improvement
Ensure consistent supply to avoid production disruptions
Key Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Environmental Science
- MBA preferred
Experience
- 6–12 years in sourcing/procurement within:
- Battery recycling
- E-waste management
- Metal / scrap trading
- Lithium-ion supply chain
- Experience dealing with US-based suppliers or international sourcing is mandatory, extensive travelling in US / Canada.
