What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intervention Specialist - Preschool position at Licking Regional Educational Service Center (ESC)?
Preschool Teacher - The Licking Regional ESC has two potential openings for Intervention Specialists to work at our Flying Colors Preschool one position at our central location in downtown Newark and the other in the Utica Elementary classroom. Applicants must hold a Bachelors Degree and valid Ohio teaching license. A dual-license (gen-ed and intervention) is preferred but not necessary. Salary will be based on years of experience and licensure.

The posting will remain open until successful candidates can be found!QUALIFICATIONS: 1.Minimum of a Bachelors Degree2.Valid Ohio Department of Education licensure/credentials3.Successful completion of BCI/FBI background checksESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1.Ensures safety of students, taking all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities2.Provides instruction to students demonstrating a knowledge of behavior management and motivational skills3.Reflects the annual goals and short term goals in the daily lesson plans and monthly activity plans4.Establishes a system of documentation/information collection to verify implementation of student progress toward goals and objectives relating to academic and behavior goals5.Responsible for the development and implementation of weekly lesson plans based on student needs6.Assists other school staff in implementing appropriate functional curriculum, instruction, and behavior management strategies7.Conducts parent meetings to develop and share information pertaining to student progress8.Completes written reports as assigned by the administration in an accurate and timely manner9.Demonstrates skill in prevention, redirection and crisis management10.Delegates and supervises the paraprofessional(s) assigned to his or her classroom11.Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance12.Maintains required license(s)13.Maintains respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., IEPs, medical records, court decisions, etc.14.Observes ethics of the teaching profession, exhibits professional behavior, emotional stability and sound judgment15.The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment at the Center.16.Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings
