Join our dynamic team as a Seasonal Tax Preparer and play a vital role in delivering accurate and timely tax services to clients during the busy tax season. We are looking for a motivated Tax Preparer with 2–4 years of hands-on experience preparing individual and business tax returns. This role is ideal for someone who is confident with core tax forms, works efficiently, and communicates clearly with clients and team members.
Responsibilities
- * Prepare federal and state tax returns, including:
– 1065
– 1120S
– 1120
– Schedule C
– Schedule E
- Review bookkeeping and financials prior to preparing returns
- Navigate QuickBooks Online to analyze P&L, balance sheets, and transactions
- Communicate with clients to gather missing information and answer basic questions
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist clients or route calls as needed
- Support the bookkeeper with document collection and simple tasks
- Assist the admin team with email follow-ups and client messages
- Provide support to senior management during peak times
- Maintain accurate workpapers, notes, and documentation in TaxDome
- Identify discrepancies, tax issues, and potential savings
- Manage multiple deadlines efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Required qualifications
- 2–4 years experience preparing individual and business tax returns
- Strong understanding of 1065, 1120S, 1120, Schedule C, and Schedule E
- Solid working knowledge of QuickBooks Online
- Strong communication skills (phone and email)
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
- Able to work independently and follow established workflows
- Bilingual English/Spanish
Preferred qualifications (not required but a plus)
- Experience using ProConnect
- Familiarity with TaxDome
- Prior experience in a tax or accounting firm
- Experience assisting with year-end cleanup or adjusting entries
- Experience documenting workflows or creating SOPs
Schedule & Work Arrangement
- Seasonal position with potential to become permanent
- Hybrid or remote options depending on candidate
- Extended hours during peak tax season
Pay: $24.97 - $34.46 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 per week
