Job Summary:
Perform quality inspections on incoming materials, in process production and finished products; record quality results. Perform Nondestructive Testing (NDT).
Job Responsibilities:
- Set up /calibrate NDT equipment for use with in-house or manufacturing procedures.
- Inspect, test incoming materials by Liburdi NDT inspection processes in compliance to Liburdi LEL procedures.
- Approve in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual, dimensional measurements and NDT tests.
- Document Inspection results in LEL Procedures and communicating results to shop personal.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Job Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- At a minimum a Graduate of a specialized NDT technical program meeting requirements of SNT-TC-1A for the following Liquid Penetrant Inspection (Fluorescent/ Visual),
- Prior certification as an ASNT/SNT-TC-1A Level II with Minimum 1 year experience or prior certification as an NDT Level I technician with adequate documented experience hours to certify to level II per SNT-TC-1A standards in required discipline.
- Continue Advancement for SNT-TC-1A certification in other NDT disciplines; Visual, Ultrasonic Thickness as OJT and workloads permit.
- Able to work with Measurement gauges.
- Proficient computer skills required for the job.
- Be able to work in an ISO 9001-AS9100 Quality environment
Must show evidence of the following upon completion of the 90-day Evaluation and Annual Evaluations by QA Manager:
- Proficient computer skills required for the job.
- Strong analytical skills to using data to make operational decisions. Able to retrieve information train and transfer knowledge to team members. Demonstrate ability to lead and positively influence others in a team based environment.
- Inspector must be competent in conducting visual and dimensional inspection of welded and brazed components.
- Inspector must be competent in reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, codes and standards.
- Inspector must be capable of performing and/or evaluating Non-destructive Examination Testing, Quality Plans and project specific requirements. The inspector must be capable of reporting on all activities.
- Strong attention to details and following procedures
- Knowledge related to the inspection of turbine components a plus.
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as required.
Must be able to pass eye examinations required for NDT (correction is permitted). These tests include J1 visual acuity for all methods, and color-blind vision test for some methods.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
