Work Location: Des Moines, IA
The RC Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining cutting equipment used to process boards and sheet materials according to production specifications. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment with an understanding of warehouse production workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate cutting equipment to cut materials to specified dimensions and tolerances.
- Review work orders, blueprints, or cut lists to ensure accuracy of materials and dimensions.
- Set up machines for production runs, including selecting tools, loading materials, and entering machine settings or programs.
- Inspect finished pieces for accuracy, quality, and finish before moving materials to the next stage of production.
- Maintain equipment through regular cleaning, calibration, and minor repairs or adjustments.
- Track material usage and report any issues with quality, defects, or machine performance.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Assist with general warehouse tasks, including material handling, staging, and inventory support as needed.
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, woodworking, or warehouse environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret production drawings, cut lists, and measurement tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Stand for extended periods
