Maintenance Mechanic

General Purpose: A General Service Technician is responsible for routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid flushes. Performing basic repairs and safety checks to ensure equipment reliability.

Essential Duties:

• Perform minor repairs on heavy equipment, including hydraulic hoses, fittings, and accessories.

• Replace accessory components on engines and attachments.

• Perform scheduled Preventive Maintenance services on company service trucks, forklifts, and other heavy equipment to ensure optimal functionality.

• Conduct safety checks on company service trucks and heavy equipment, inspecting brakes and identifying worn parts.

• Monitor inventory and restock shop supplies, spare parts, oils, and lubricants.

• Clean, organize, and maintain the maintenance shop area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

• Safely operate forklifts to load and unload parts, move heavy components, and organize shop inventory. • Accurately completing work orders and documenting services performed.

Education/Experience: 2 - 3 years of experience preferred. Must have previous mechanical experience.

Language Skills: Will be required to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos, to write correspondence, memos, and schedules; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients, and fellow staff.

Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills required.

Reasoning Ability: Problem solving, reasoning, and “thinking out of the box” will be a constant requirement; in addition, applying common sense understanding to better serve our guests’ needs.

Physical Demands:

• Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.

• Prolonged periods of walking and standing.

• Must be able to lift up, push and pull to 40 pounds at a time.

• Consistently climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, or crouches.

• Consistently turning and moving of hands, arms, feet, and legs.

Vision Requirements: Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.

Environment/Noise: Often works outdoors in both hot and cold temperatures. Occasionally works in wet areas.
