Libertyville School District 70 is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support our facilities. The position is under the Director of Facilities and Operations, and is a full time, 12-month, 260-day position. The schedule is Tuesday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and the work is in-person. Salary of $37,000 - $47,000 will be commensurate with experience and skills.

Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- General knowledge of all trades, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC.
- Ability read blueprints and follow written/oral instructions.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under time constraints.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Capable of working independently with little or no supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and the community.
Purpose: To maintain all school buildings in peak condition for optimal learning to occur.

- Basic comfort cooling monitoring and adjustments
- Minor HVAC and electrical repairs
- Performs maintenance on air conditioning and heating equipment.
- Assist with landscaping tasks such as mowing and weeding.
- Snow plowing, shoveling, and salting during winter months.
- Clean roof drains and maintain workspaces.
- Move and set up equipment between buildings as required.
- Diagnoses and makes repairs on any mechanical equipment within the school district.
- Inspect, repair, or replace plumbing, piping, fixtures, traps, valves, gauges, pumps, coils, and gaskets.
- Makes electrical installations and repairs.
- Repair and maintain roofs, flooring, doors, windows, desks, tables, chairs, and cleaning equipment.
- Complete carpentry, painting, and general building repairs as needed.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and energy conservation work.
- Respond to emergency calls and urgent maintenance needs.
- Serve as custodial substitute when necessary.
- Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as assigned by an administrator.
