PAWS AIDE - LHS
Overview: This position serves as a resource to academically at-risk students. A qualified candidate will assist the classroom teacher in creating an atmosphere conducive to learning, work with students on academic goals and progress monitoring, assist students with mastering learning.
Reports to: Associate Principal for Teaching and Learning
Employee Status: Educational Support Professional - Direct Paraprofessional

Calendar: 184 Teacher Attendance Days, 7:45am - 3:45pm
Qualifications: Education and experience equivalent to high school graduation
Illinois Paraprofessional license required
Professional/Personal Characteristics:
- Previous experience in an educational setting preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently under varying deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to identify sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
- Proficient with Google G-Suite, office and phone equipment
- Ability to work as part of an educational team to support the needs of individual or groups of students
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist and collaborate with intervention teachers as needed in planning, executing, and assessing daily plans
- Assist individuals or groups of students with course work in content areas
- Communicate student's needs, strengths and weaknesses with intervention teachers and other staff members and collaborate as needed
- Assist intervention teachers in supervising students and monitoring progress
- Perform administrative duties such as copying and filing
- Advocate for students in academic and personal issues
- Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor
