What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant - Float Position position at Liberty Urgent Care?
Medical Assistant needed for full-service, Urgent Care facilities in the Greater Montgomery County area. Position is 30-35 hours/week, including every other weekend and some holidays. Additional hours are available. Please note -- this is a float position and you are required to work at both facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide medical treatment and support to patients, their families, and their caregivers. Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit.
- Assist patients with their emotional needs.
- Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients.
- Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure.
- Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing.
- Perform laboratory tests. Respond to all lab messages and call back requests.
- Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations.
- Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure.
- Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
- Adhere to OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
