Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ. It is expected that an adjunct member models a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview. Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a significant educational end. They should strive to employ a variety of techniques for the development of good learning conditions, view each student as a unique individual, and insofar as it is possible, provide for individual differences, abilities, and interests. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to teaching residential undergraduate courses, participating in meetings, serving the School and the larger university through committee assignments, projects, etc. as assigned by the Chair of Criminal Justice, mentoring and meeting with students, serving in administrative, project, and project management capacities as assigned by the Chair, and participating in all other regular responsibilities of adjunct faculty. The position requires the ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats, the mobility and ability to travel both between locations on campus and to various off-campus conferences and events. Minimum Qualifications Qualified applicants will have either a Ph.D. in a criminal justice or Subject-matter expert possessing both a master’s degree and substantial professional experience Excellent research, writing and grammar skills Strong organizational skills Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information Familiarity with of Microsoft Office and Canvas Preferred Qualifications Five or more years of specialized, professional experience in either the field of criminal justice Five or more years of prior teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office and Canvas Target Hire Date 2026-01-05 Time Type Part time Location Lynchburg - In Office The University is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
