EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Performs and/or assists in semi-skilled maintenance, installation, and repair to buildings and equipment in connection with construction and mechanical trades including plumbing, painting, carpentry, heating, electrical, masonry, metal work, glazing, tile work, roofing, flooring, ventilating systems, welding, and mechanics; reports unsafe conditions and needed repairs to supervisor; drives light truck; assembles tools and materials required for jobs; receives work orders; keeps simple records; operates power equipment, such as loaders, jack hammers, power saws, and post hole diggers; assists electricians, carpenters, plumbers, and other tradespersons in construction, installation, and repair work.
Requirements / Qualifications
Experience with welding, electrical and/or keying highly preferred Letter of Interest Resume Letters of Recommendation Possession of a valid California Driver's License Employees in this class who hold one or more of the certifications listed below will be place one range higher on the classified salary schedule (this is the rate on posting). Certifications must be kept current and/or renewed every five years. Class A Driver’s License ELECTRICAL: AA Degree and/or California Electrical Certification Program HVAC: Universal EPA Certification PAINT: Lead Paint Certifications POOL: CC Environmental Health Course Aquatics Facility Operator Certificate Certified Pool Operator Certificate AUTOMATIC EXTINGUISHING SYSTEMS; Cal Fire Certification
