What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Mechanic position at Liberty Truck Lines?
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and vehicles
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools
- Inspect and test engines, transmissions, brake systems, and other vehicle components
- Repair or replace faulty parts and components, such as fuel systems, exhaust systems, and suspension systems
- Perform tire service, including mounting, balancing, and aligning tires
- Service and repair HVAC systems in diesel vehicles
- Assemble and disassemble engines and other machinery
- Use hand tools and power tools to complete repairs and maintenance tasks
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and components
- Proficiency in air brake systems and their operation
- Familiarity with farm machinery maintenance and repair is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and customers
