POSITION OVERVIEW
Liberty Title & Escrow, under Fidelity National Financial (FNF) family of companies, is a leading provider of title insurance and settlement services, dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth real estate transactions. We are seeking a Pre-Processor / Junior Processor who is highly organized, detail oriented, and eager to learn. This role supports the processing team by preparing files, gathering documentation, and assisting with the coordination of real estate closings. It is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their title or real estate career who wants to build a strong foundation in the settlement process. The ideal candidate is dependable, team-focused, and customer-service driven, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.. This is an on-site, full-time role, Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, overtime as required, reporting to Virginia branch management.
LOCATION
- This role is fully on-site in our Virginia Beach office.
- Ability to travel 5-10% for onsite trainings as required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a pipeline of real estate transactions
- Perform accurate data entry into the title and settlement systems
- Scan, upload, and properly label documents in the system to maintain accurate and organized files
- Perform general clerical tasks such as copying, filing, and document management
- Answer incoming phone calls professionally and route calls to the appropriate team members
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and aptitude for working with numbers in a fast-paced environment
- Confirm receipt and accuracy of tax certificates and related property tax information prior to closing
- Follow up on outstanding tax certifications and escalate discrepancies or missing information as needed
- Monitor shared inboxes and assist with routing emails or requests to the correct parties
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems to support the processing team
- Support the preparation of closing documents, including Closing Disclosures (CDs) and settlement statements, for review by the Processor
- Gather and organize financial and transaction-related information
- Communicate with lenders, agents, and internal partners to follow up on outstanding items
- Coordinate with internal departments, including title, funding, and post-closing teams, to keep files progressing
- Organize and maintain files to ensure accuracy and compliance with company and regulatory requirements
- Provide professional and responsive customer service to both internal and external partners
- Maintain detailed and accurate notes in the system regarding file status and updates
- Support the team by monitoring timelines and escalating potential delays or issues
- Respond to general inquiries regarding file status and basic title/closing information
- Participate in training programs and continue learning title and escrow processes
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and timely transaction flow
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the processing team
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Previous title industry or real estate experience with residential and commercial transactions.
- Professional, positive attitude
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Outlook
- Ability to use PC and widely used software packages, e.g., spreadsheets/Excel, word processing/Word.
- Ability to learn new software packages as necessary or have experience with company operating system.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience with SoftPro strongly preferred
- Extensive knowledge of applicable title standards and practices
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication
- The ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
COMPENSATION and BENEFITS
This position has the potential to earn compensation in the range of $19.23 - $21.63 hourly based on location and job-related factors such as skillset and experience. Actual rate may vary within the range provided, depending on a number of factors, including skillset, experience and location. The base compensation is one component of the total rewards package offered to our employees, including optional health and welfare insurance (medical/dental/vision/life/disability); paid holidays, vacation, and sick time off; and matching 401(k) plan and matching employee stock purchase plan.
