Tax Preparer – Liberty TaxPosition Summary:Liberty Tax is seeking friendly, detail-oriented Tax Preparers to join our team. In this role, you will prepare accurate federal and state tax returns for clients, deliver exceptional customer service, and support the daily operations of your local Liberty Tax office. This is a seasonal position with the opportunity to return each year and grow within the Liberty Tax organization.Key ResponsibilitiesTax Preparation & CompliancePrepare individual and small business federal and state income tax returns using Liberty Tax software and guidelines.Interview Liberty Tax clients to collect and verify tax-related information.Apply current tax laws to maximize client refunds while ensuring full compliance with IRS rules and Liberty Tax standards.Review completed returns with clients and clearly explain results, fees, and next steps.Customer ServiceProvide a warm, professional experience to every Liberty Tax client.Answer questions about the tax preparation process, required documentation, and available Liberty Tax services.Safeguard client confidentiality and handle financial information securely.Office & Operational SupportSupport Liberty Tax office operations by answering phones, scheduling appointments, greeting customers, and maintaining a clean, organized environment.Participate in Liberty Tax training, meetings, and ongoing tax education to stay current on tax laws and company procedures.Assist with local Liberty Tax marketing efforts, including promotional events or community outreach (varies by location).Sales & Service PromotionPromote Liberty Tax’s service offerings, including audit assistance, refund transfer options, and other value-added products.Help build customer loyalty by delivering an excellent Liberty Tax experience from start to finish.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently during peak tax season.Excellent customer service and communication skills.Basic computer literacy required.Previous tax preparation experience is helpful but not necessary.Working ConditionsSeasonal position (December–April), with flexible hours that may include evenings and weekends.Fast-paced Liberty Tax office environment during tax season.Opportunities to return annually and advance into roles such as Senior Tax Preparer, Office Manager, or Franchise Supervisor.
