Office Manager – Liberty Tax (Mount Olive, NC)
Year-Round Employment | Full-Time (Oct–May) & Part-Time (June–Sept)
Liberty Tax in Mount Olive is seeking a dependable, motivated, and experienced Office Manager to join our team. This year-round position plays a key leadership role in managing daily office operations, supporting tax preparers, and ensuring excellent customer service. The Office Manager works full-time during tax season (October–May) and part-time during the off-season (June–September).

Responsibilities
Office Management
- Oversee daily office operations, scheduling, and workflow
- Manage opening/closing procedures and maintain office supplies
- Handle phones, client intake, email communication, and appointments
- Maintain User Manager access and onboarding files
- Ensure compliance with Liberty Tax policies and IRS guidelines
Tax Preparation & Quality Support
- Prepare individual tax returns as needed
- Assist preparers with tax law questions and calculations
- Review returns for accuracy before filing
- Manage e-filing, amendments, extensions, and IRS letters
- Provide year-round tax support to clients
Leadership & Team Support
- Supervise tax preparers, receptionists, and guerilla marketers
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training
- Conduct check-ins and support ongoing staff development
- Maintain a positive and professional work environment
Customer Service
- Greet clients and ensure an excellent customer experience
- Resolve questions and concerns professionally
- Promote Liberty Tax services and products
- Maintain confidentiality of client information
Marketing & Community Outreach
- Support guerilla marketing efforts and community engagement
- Help plan Torchie parties, open houses, job fairs, and outreach events
- Assist with social media posting and local partnerships
Off-Season Support (June–September)
- Process amendments, IRS notices, and off-season returns
- Assist with office organization and planning
- Support Tax School scheduling, communication, and onboarding
- Contribute to business development goals
Qualifications
- Tax preparation skills required
- Strong understanding of individual tax returns, deductions, credits, and IRS rules
- Office management or team leadership experience preferred
- Experience with Liberty Tax software or similar platforms a plus
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Highly organized and reliable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment during peak months
Schedule
Tax Season (Oct–May): Full-time hours; extended hours and weekends may be required
Off-Season (June–Sept): Part-time hours; flexible weekday schedule
