Liberty Retirement Community of Lima is looking for a Housekeeping Attendant to join our team!
QUALIFICATIONS:
(Education) Preferred – Completion of twelfth (12) grade education.
(Experience) Previous institutional environmental services experience is preferred.
(Aptitude) Ability to read, understand and follow written and oral instructions in order to identify various chemicals and cleaning agents from their labels and understand directions for use.
Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
Motor coordination and manual dexterity are required to dust, mop, vacuum, and scrub designated areas.
(Physical Demands) Stands, walks, reaches, turns and kneels intermittently throughout the working day; pushes, pulls, lifts or carries furniture and equipment; manipulates carious cleaning equipment and supplies; ability to work with chemicals and cleaning agents; works inside except for occasional out-of-doors seasonal environmental services projects.
SPECIFIC RESONSIBILITIES:
- Perform defined cleaning procedures, using various chemical and cleaning agents, supplies and equipment, for all areas assigned that would include, but not be limited to the following:
- Dusting/polishing and arranging furniture or equipment.
- Mopping and polishing floors.
- Vacuuming carpets and draperies.
- Scouring and sanitizing sinks, toilets, tubs, shower areas.
- Polishing plumbing fixtures.
- Cleaning mirrors, lighting fixtures, windows, and sills.
- Washing or spot cleaning walls.
- Removing stains and debris from floors, carpets, and furniture.
- Removing, transporting and disposing of trash.
- Replenish paper products, hand soap products and wastebasket liners as needed during routine cleaning procedures.
- Maintain environmental services cart and utility closets in sanitary and orderly condition.
- Replenish cart supplies at end of shift in preparation for next day’s use.
- Inform supervisor of supply or equipment needs.
- Keep storage areas locked with supplies properly stored according to established procedures.
- Store all germicides, pesticides and other toxic substances clearly labeled and locked away when not in use.
- Follow established reporting procedures for the following:
- Any damaged or loose fixtures, flooring, or tiling requiring replacement or repair.
- Any unsafe or malfunctioning equipment.
- Any conditions conductive to breeding insects, rodents and other vermin. Be knowledgeable of federal, state and facility’s rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Attend in service educational programs.
- Follow defined safety codes while performing all duties.
- Understand facility’s fire and disaster plans; follow established procedures during drills and actual emergencies.
- Follow defined infection control procedures.
- Perform other department duties or special assignments as directed by the Environmental Services Supervisor.
