Youth Act Clinical Support Staff Position Summary:    

The Youth Assertive Community Treatment (Youth ACT) Clinical Support Staff provides community-based rehabilitative and supportive services to youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) and complex behavioral health needs, helping them build daily living, emotional regulation, and community functioning skills. As part of a multidisciplinary team, this role delivers strength-based, trauma-informed, youth-guided services that support individualized treatment goals and promote stability in home, school, and community settings.

Youth Act Clinical Support Staff Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide community-based rehabilitative, skill-building, and supportive services to youth and families in accordance with Youth ACT standards, promoting emotional, behavioral, social, academic, and independent living skills.
  • Implement individualized treatment and recovery goals through outreach, engagement, and service delivery in home, school, and community settings while fostering youth engagement and family involvement.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary Youth ACT team, families, schools, healthcare providers, and community partners to coordinate care, support transitions, and connect youth to community resources.
  • Participate in crisis intervention, de-escalation, safety planning, and stabilization efforts while monitoring youth progress and communicating changes in functioning to the treatment team.
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation and ensure compliance with OMH regulations, Medicaid requirements, agency policies, confidentiality standards, and ethical and legal practices.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, required trainings, quality improvement, and fidelity monitoring activities while performing other duties as assigned to support program operations.

Youth Act Clinical Support Staff Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Sociology, Education, or a related field required; equivalent experience may be considered in accordance with agency and program requirements.
  • One to two years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families with behavioral health needs; experience in community-based, school-based, residential, or Youth ACT-related programs preferred.
  • Current CANS-NY certification (or ability to obtain), completion of required OMH Youth ACT trainings, and knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, motivational interviewing, and culturally responsive practices.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development, behavioral health, psychosocial rehabilitation, Medicaid documentation, OMH standards, and evidence-based, family-centered approaches.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, organizational, crisis response, and documentation skills, with proficiency in electronic health records, Microsoft Office 365, and multidisciplinary team collaboration.
  • Valid New York State driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout the community while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.

 

Salary: $50,000 Annually
