Job Summary
We are seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to provide comprehensive mental health and behavioral health services within a multidisciplinary healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will deliver patient-centered care through psychotherapy, clinical assessments, and case management, supporting individuals across diverse populations, including children, adults, and seniors. This role involves collaboration with medical teams, utilizing EMR systems, and adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure high-quality, ethical care. The LCSW will play a vital role in diagnosing, treating, and supporting patients with mental health conditions, developmental disabilities, and complex behavioral needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and intake interviews to determine patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy utilizing evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and crisis intervention techniques.
- Deliver specialized care for populations including children with autism or developmental disabilities, geriatrics with Alzheimer’s or other neurodegenerative conditions, and patients requiring PTSD or addiction counseling.
- Utilize EMR systems for accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, progress notes, and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans and facilitate referrals when necessary.
- Engage in clinical research activities related to behavioral health or mental health topics as assigned.
- Participate in case management activities to support community integration and home-based care when appropriate.
- Maintain current knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and relevant healthcare regulations.
- Provide crisis management and intervention services in urgent situations while maintaining a compassionate approach aligned with Christian counseling principles if applicable.
Qualifications
- Valid LCSW license in the state of practice.
- Proven experience in psychotherapy, mental health counseling, or behavioral health settings.
- Strong background in child & family counseling, working with people with autism or disabilities, geriatrics, or specialized populations such as those with PTSD or substance use disorders.
- Familiarity with EMR systems, ICD/ICD-10 coding systems, CPT coding (including CPT coding for mental health services), and medical records management.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medical documentation practices compliant with HIPAA regulations.
- Experience conducting diagnostic evaluations and applying evidence-based therapies like CBT, psychodynamic therapy, crisis intervention, applied behavior analysis (ABA), or addiction counseling.
- Excellent communication skills for intake assessments, patient education, group therapy facilitation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment while demonstrating compassion and professionalism in patient care delivery.
