JOB SUMMARY

This position is for an Operating Room Circulator whose responsibility is to prepare the surgical suite for surgical procedures, conduct pre-operative interviews, assess the surgical patient and develop a plan of care.  This position utilizes the nursing process to assess, prioritize, plan, deliver and evaluate care provided to the neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric surgical population through collaboration with the surgeon and assigned anesthesia.  This position assists with activities to promote optimal patient care and efficient resource utilization.  The position reports to the Director of Surgical Services.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

1. Minimum level of Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
2. Formal Training: Clinical competence in nursing required. Active RN license required.
3. Licensure, Certifications & Registration:  Current license to practice as a registered professional nurse in the state of Georgia. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
4. Work Experience: 2 years of experience in the surgical environment preferred. Advanced technical nursing skills preferred. Intermediate knowledge of the perioperative process.  Basic computer skills required.
